Tasked with promoting "Keep Alabama Beautiful" in a state-wide campaign, we decided to go the "Carpool Karaoke" route to get the message out.
We enlisted renowned Alabama musical group Act of Congress as our ambassadors, cruising around the countryside in a vintage 1963 Lincoln Continental and singing... and making sure the highways were clean.
In addition to the broadcast commercial, at the same time we produced a full-length music video for use on social media.
This was a very aggressive shoot, cramming what should have been about two or three days' worth of principal photography into one very long day. Phil Schmidt concepted and produced the project, with Todd Terry directing and Joey Skelton editing. Ryan Nelson served as our aerial cinematographer, and James Coats was extra brave to trust us with his beautiful car.
We really appreciate Denise Taylor and her "Keep Alabama Beautiful" team along with the state Department of Transportation for bringing us on board.
By the way... Act of Congress members Adam, Connie, Chris, and Tim are not only great sports and fun to be around, but they are wildly talented musicians, too. Try to catch them, if you get a chance.
